The “Booster Gold” series is still in development. As TheWrap found out, DC Studios did not abandon the project after David Jenkins' departure, but decided to hand it over to a new creative team.

Thus, the screenwriter's recent statement only referred to the version of “Booster Gold” he developed. Jenkins stated that it “will not be moving forward,” but did not claim that the studio had definitively canceled the series. However, many media outlets interpreted his words that way.

Who will lead the new version of “Booster Gold” is still unknown. DC Studios has not yet chosen a lead actor and has not publicly commented on the changes in the creative team.

“Booster Gold” is part of the first chapter of the relaunched DC cinematic universe called “Gods and Monsters.” James Gunn previously described the project as a story about a superhero with imposter syndrome who arrives from the future and uses available technology to gain fame in the present.
