Filming for the third season of the Fallout series is in full swing, and new photos from the set have emerged online, hinting at the appearance of a Brotherhood of Steel unit known as the Order of the Quill. Specifically, images taken at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles show banners featuring a quill and an open book.
Members of the Order of the Quill seek out books and holodisks, preserve the information they find, and maintain the Brotherhood of Steel's chronicles. The unit has been mentioned in games before but has never played a significant role in the plot.
Official details about the third season are still scarce. It is assumed that some of the events will unfold in Colorado, where the Ghoul went in search of his family. This region has not appeared in released Fallout games before, although it was planned for use in the canceled Van Buren – an early version of the third installment, which was later replaced by Fallout 3.
This direction aligns with the words of Bethesda Game Studios head Todd Howard. He previously promised that the third season would introduce viewers to places and elements of the universe that had not been shown in the games before.
Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan will return to their roles. Newcomers include Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad"), Emily Mortimer ("The Newsroom"), Manny Jacinto ("The Acolyte"), and Thomasin McKenzie ("Jojo Rabbit"). Their roles are currently kept secret.
The premiere of Fallout Season 3 is expected in the second half of 2027.
