New "Resident Evil" Gets Exclusive Japanese Trailer with Horrifying Mutations
There's just over a month left until the release of Zach Cregger's new Resident Evil adaptation.
Sony Pictures Japan has released a new trailer for the upcoming "Resident Evil" from director Zach Cregger ("The Weapons" and "Barbarian"). The video was timed to Biohazard Day, celebrated in Japan on August 10 in honor of the franchise's local name.
Most of the 30-second video consists of familiar footage, but it includes several new scenes. In one of them, an infected person is shown with red tentacles growing from their face.
The new "Resident Evil" will tell an independent story about a courier named Bryan, played by Austin Abrams. The hero is tasked with delivering a case of organs to a Raccoon City hospital but finds himself at the epicenter of a deadly virus outbreak and must fight for survival.
In addition to Abrams, the cast includes Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, Paul Walter Hauser, and Jonno Wilson. The premiere of the new "Resident Evil" in international cinemas is scheduled for September 18, 2026.
