"Red Riding Hood Finds a Corpse": First Trailer Released for Anime Adaptation of Aito Aoyagi's Fairy Tale Detective Story

The heroine will solve murders and other mysterious incidents based on famous fairy tales.

Aito Aoyagi's detective story series "Red Riding Hood Finds a Corpse" will receive an anime adaptation. Along with the announcement, the creators presented the first trailer and poster, and also announced the release window — 2027.

The story follows Red Riding Hood as she travels through a world that combines famous fairy tales — from "Cinderella" to "Sleeping Beauty." The heroine constantly encounters crimes and mysterious incidents, after which she sets out to find the culprits.

Red Riding Hood will be voiced by Yume Miyamoto (Rikka Tenai in "Jujutsu Kaisen"), and Pinocchio will be voiced by Akira Sekine (Princess in "Ranking of Kings"). The production is handled by BENTEN Film studio, with Itsuro Kawasaki as director and screenwriter. Manami Minakata and Yuko Yahiro are responsible for character design.

The books previously received a manga adaptation with illustrations by Noki Tanaka. In 2023, Netflix also released a live-action film based on the first book, "Red Riding Hood Finds a Corpse," in which the main character, along with Cinderella, investigated the murder of the royal hairdresser.
