Over the past week, the cast of the adaptation has been expanded with several previously unannounced names.

On August 10, insider Beyond Reporter reported that Samara Weaving starred in the feature film adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. Soon, indirect confirmation was found in the film's crew list on IMDb: makeup and hair specialist Winnie Ashton is listed there as the actress's personal stylist.

Weaving herself is not yet listed among the film's actors on IMDb, and her participation has not been officially announced. What character the star of the "Ready or Not" series might have played is unknown.

The information appeared amidst a series of cast revelations for the adaptation. In recent days, major Hollywood media outlets have reported the participation of Uli Latukefu (Ganondorf), Dichen Lachman (Impa), Yvonne Strahovski (unnamed queen), and Lydia Peckham (role unknown). In addition, it became known that Sam Neill, for whom an unnamed role became the last in his career, managed to star in the film.

Principal photography concluded in April 2026. Prior to the recent wave of announcements, Nintendo had officially introduced only the performers of the two main roles: Bo Bragason played Princess Zelda, and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth played Link.

The film was directed by Wes Ball, who directed "The Maze Runner" and "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes". The premiere of "The Legend of Zelda" will take place on April 30, 2027.
