This summer, Saber Interactive announced a new project. It will act as the publisher of the taxi driver simulator Rideshare "Stimulator", which is being developed by UNIGINE studio.
Some attentive players noticed an unusual license plate "USB DRV" in the trailer — these two fragments are separated by a characteristic gear, so the community had certain suspicions. Now the CEO of Saber has confirmed that this is a retaliatory jab at Randy Pitchford, the boss of Gearbox.
This license plate "USB DRV" refers to the scandal with Randy Pitchford's flash drive (USB drive). He once forgot a flash drive, which was then found by another person who discovered not only company documents but also adult explicit materials.
This gesture from the creators of Rideshare "Stimulator" is due to the fact that in Borderlands 4, the developers made an offensive reference to Embracer — players found a location called Embracer's Bluff on the map, in the center of which a pile of garbage was located, and local residents were digging in it.
In an interview with Game File, the CEO of Saber said: "This reference is related to Randy poking fun at Embracer in Borderlands 4. Without Embracer, Randy would be making a living doing magic tricks at birthday parties."
