Bulkhead studio decided to use an unusual approach to promote their new tactical shooter WARDOGS. Instead of listing the game's advantages and urging players to pre-order, the developers released a video tentatively titled "why you shouldn't buy WARDOGS".
According to the team, this way they want to be as honest as possible about the project's state at the start of early access and not create inflated expectations. The developers explained in detail what content players should expect and how the game's price will change as the project develops.
WARDOGS will be released in early access on September 10. At launch, the game will cost $39.99. After the meta-game is added, the price will increase to $49.99, and the full release of version 1.0 will be sold for $59.99. Bulkhead is confident that by the time version 1.0 is released, the game will be worth its money.
The studio also decided to warn players in advance about technical limitations. Do not expect to run WARDOGS in native 4K resolution at 240 frames per second.
Separately, the developers touched upon monetization. According to them, in-game purchases will not affect progress. The profit received from the game is planned to be reinvested back into development to continue improving the project and adding new content.
Those who pre-order WARDOGS will have the opportunity to participate in a closed beta test, which starts on August 21 and will last throughout the weekend.
