PlayStation Subscribers Got a Bit of Democracy: Helldivers 2 Landed in the PS Plus Catalog
The game also received a massive Devoid of Liberty update.
Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arrowhead Game Studios announced the release of a major update, Devoid of Liberty, for the co-op shooter Helldivers 2. Simultaneously, the game became available in the PlayStation Plus catalog for Extra and Premium subscribers.
The update's events transport players closer to the mysterious Void. High Command dispatches squads on reconnaissance missions to gather as much information as possible and gain an advantage in the ongoing struggle.
As part of Devoid of Liberty, players will undertake new tasks related to exploring Illuminates territories. These include:
- destroying Illuminates spires and gates;
- conducting reconnaissance and data collection;
- infiltrating Illuminates structures;
- destroying Void mutations;
- extracting materials for research.
Additionally, an extra evacuation point has been added to the maps. This potentially allows the squad to leave the planet faster after completing a mission.
As they advance towards the Void, players will encounter new creatures. These are terrifyingly mutated organisms that, according to intelligence gathered, emerge directly from the depths of the Void.
Developers describe them as peculiar Illuminates creations, designed to distract and destroy forces fighting for freedom.
