Xbox Unveils Limited Edition Gears of War: E-Day Controller

Sales will begin on September 30.

Xbox officially unveiled the limited edition Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition wireless controller. Sales of the device will begin on September 30, a few days before the game's release on October 6.

The controller's design is inspired by the destruction left after the Locust invasion. The body features volumetric details and laser engraving in the form of cracked asphalt with red glowing cracks, under which the Crimson Omen symbol is hidden. The controller also received black ABXY buttons, a transparent red X, red triggers, and a transparent D-pad.

The Gears of War: E-Day Limited Edition will cost $89.99. Pre-orders are already open in the official Xbox store.

At the same time, Xbox will add a new design for controller customization to Xbox Design Lab. It was created by British artist Luke Preece, who previously worked with Metallica, Slipknot, and Ozzy Osbourne. The illustration with two crossed Lancers and enemy skulls will be available on September 30.

Design Lab users will also be able to choose metallic triggers and D-pad, rubberized side and back panels, as well as personal engraving.
