Zenless Zone Zero Modder Criticized for "Racism" - She Turned Beast-Girls into Regular Humans

Some players had questions for the mod creator.

The world of Zenless Zone Zero features diverse characters. There are not only ordinary humans but also Tyrens. According to the lore, they are a humanoid species with various animalistic features, coexisting alongside real animals and forming one of the three largest demographic groups in New Eridu, alongside humans and constructs.

For example, Sigrid de l'Azur (Horse), Lucia (Goat), Alice Timefield (Rabbit), and Jane Doe (Rat) are Tyrens. These characters belong to different factions, but they are united by pronounced "animalistic" features in their design.

However, not all players like this, and recently, the attention of Zenless Zone Zero fans was drawn to user modifications for "humanizing" these characters – removing their characteristic "animalistic" traits and turning them into ordinary girls.

Judging by the comments, this approach was not particularly appreciated by many Zenless Zone Zero fans. One popular comment from user Olestagra was very concise: "Racism."

A player under the nickname EffectiveKey2512 shed light on the backstory of these modifications: according to him, it all started with Alice Timefield. His female acquaintance played as her with modifications, and due to a mod conflict, the character's ears disappeared. After that, the modder decided to remove the "animalistic" parts from other characters.

One of the discussion participants published art with the humanization of other characters: Hoshimi Miyabi, Ju Fufu, and Pulchra – the latter seemed "cursed" to many in this form (without her mask and ears, she was considered creepy).
