The developers of Phantom Blade Zero from S-Game revealed an unexpected detail about the game. In a new extended trailer, released simultaneously with the start of pre-orders, it was revealed that the mysterious masked character is played by the famous Hong Kong actor and martial artist Donnie Yen ("Ip Man," "Ip Man 2," "Ip Man 4," "John Wick 4").
In the game, Yen plays Mo Yuan, the father of the main character, Soul. However, his involvement turned out to be much more extensive than just acting. Since 2023, Donnie Yen has been serving as a creative consultant for S-Game, assisting the team with combat scene direction and choreography.
The developers also thanked the actor and his stunt team for their help in creating authentic combat scenes. Previously, Yen's connection to the project could only be speculated: back in 2023, S-Game appointed Kenji Tanigaki, who has worked with Donnie Yen's team for about 30 years, as the action director.
