Recently, gamers remembered (and some learned) about Rideshare "Stimulator". This is a taxi driver simulator from UNIGINE studio, and the publisher is the well-known Saber Interactive.
The project announcement caught the attention of screenwriter Stella Sacco, who accused Saber of firing her and replacing her with artificial intelligence. Soon, the developers issued a refutation, and the boss of Saber also spoke out:
Stella... who is that anyway? I had to ask [AI] Claude because I've never interacted with her or even seen her. We've said before that we use artificial intelligence for certain parts of the game and will update the game's description on Steam as soon as we finalize the set of features involved.
Then Matt Karch continued and explained that the screenwriter violated the agreement:
Let me clarify: if the script wins an award, it will be given to someone who can go on stage and accept it [i.e., a human]. We always planned to talk about this ourselves, but Stella violated the confidentiality clause and disclosed the information before we were ready. We believe the use of AI in this particular game — and this will be a reduced-price project — is a plus for consumers.
Matt Karch confirmed Stella's replacement, but clarified that this "replacement" is a living person:
As for Stella: she was replaced by a more talented person, and after several months she was fired for a number of reasons. Apparently, she loves scandals even more than I do. Honestly, right now I would be happy to replace her with AI. At least then we would be dealing with someone programmed to be honest.
