HBO Max and DC have unveiled the trailer for the video podcast Lanterns: The Official Podcast. The podcast will be hosted by blogger and DC comics expert Juju Green, also known as Straw Hat Goofy. Along with invited guests, he will analyze plot twists, Easter eggs, and details of the series. Participants in the podcast will include actors and creators of "Lanterns," including co-creators Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King:
"Every week, we'll break down the episodes piece by piece: every detail and every Easter egg. We'll talk in depth about the characters and what lies behind the central mystery, including Hal and John's relationship."
Video versions of the episodes will appear on the official YouTube channels of HBO Max and DC, while the audio format will be available on podcast platforms. New episodes will be released on Sundays, and in Russia – on Mondays due to the time difference.
"Lanterns" will tell the story of veteran Green Lantern Corps member Hal Jordan and his young partner John Stewart. The heroes will travel to rural America to investigate a murder connected to a larger threat. The main roles are played by Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre.
The premiere of "Lanterns" will take place on HBO and HBO Max on August 17, 2026. The first season consists of eight episodes.
