Captain Jack Sparrow Returns? Disney in Talks with Johnny Depp for "Pirates of the Caribbean 6"

The producer of "Pirates of the Caribbean" has long been seeking the actor's return.

Producer of "Pirates of the Caribbean" Jerry Bruckheimer, in a conversation with Deadline at the D23 festival, confirmed that Disney is in talks with Johnny Depp about returning to the role of Captain Jack Sparrow:

Bruckheimer did not share any other details. The producer had previously stated that he would like to see Depp in the franchise again and, if the decision were up to him, the actor "would definitely be there."

Little is known about the new installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean" so far. Earlier, media reported that Kristy Wilson-Cairns, known for the films "1917" and "Last Night in Soho," is working on the script. Insiders also said that one of the central characters could be a new heroine played by Margot Robbie, and the plot would allegedly tell the story of Jack Sparrow's son.

Bruckheimer refuted the latter rumor back in the spring of 2026, but did not rule out Robbie's possible involvement. However, Disney has not yet announced the cast or plot details of the new film.
