A character trailer for the anime "Sekiro: No Defeat," dedicated to the Sculptor, has been released on the KADOKAWAanime YouTube channel. This is already the fifth video in the series introducing viewers to the characters of the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice adaptation.
The Sculptor himself was once a shinobi nicknamed Orangutan. He fought with a prosthetic arm until Isshin Ashina cut off his arm, stopping his transformation into a Shura. In the original game, the Sculptor lives in an abandoned temple and carves Buddha statues, on whose faces anger invariably appears. He saves Wolf after his defeat by Genichiro Ashina and replaces the shinobi's lost arm with a special prosthetic with a hook, shurikens, flamethrower, and other devices.
Jin Urayama, who voiced the character in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, returned to the role of the Sculptor. The actor said that conveying the constant thirst for murder that haunts the hero was not easy:
"It was difficult for me to understand how to convey the Sculptor, filled with a thirst for murder. His meeting with Wolf makes a strong impression, and as the shinobi's lonely struggle develops, the Sculptor's inner world gradually unfolds."
"Sekiro: No Defeat" is being created using 2D hand-drawn animation. The production is handled by Qzil.la studio, Ken'ichi Kutsuna is the director, Takuya Sato wrote the script, and Takashi Mukoda is in charge of staging the fight scenes.
The limited theatrical release of the anime in Japan will begin on September 4, 2026, and will last for three weeks. Later, "Sekiro: No Defeat" will appear on Crunchyroll in most countries around the world, but the date of the digital premiere has not yet been announced.
