Streaming service HIDIVE has unveiled a new trailer and key visual for the second season of "Reincarnated as a Sword." In the new episodes, Fran and Teacher will travel to a floating island in the sky, where they will encounter an army of the undead.
The production of the sequel is once again handled by studio C2C. Shinji Ishihira serves as director, Takahiro Nagano is responsible for series composition and script, and Atsuko Saito for character design. The music was composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, who worked on "Fairy Tail" and "Naruto: Shippuden."
"Reincarnated as a Sword" tells the story of a man who, after death, finds himself in a fantasy world in the form of a sentient magical blade. His owner becomes a cat-girl named Fran, who dreams of becoming stronger and achieving the evolution of her people. The first season, consisting of 12 episodes, was released in the fall of 2022, and the sequel was announced immediately after the finale.
The second season will begin airing on September 30 on the Japanese service ABEMA, with television broadcast starting on October 7. Outside of Japan, the anime will be exclusively shown by HIDIVE, but the exact premiere date on the service has not yet been announced.
