Tencent and Krafton announced PUBG Mobile Light – a lightweight version of the popular battle royale for low-end and budget smartphones. The game will put less strain on the processor and take up less space in the device's memory.
The initial PUBG Mobile Light installation package will take up about 1 GB on Android and less than 2 GB on iOS. Maps and other additional materials can be downloaded separately, so there will be no need to install all content at once.
At the same time, the developers promise to preserve the main maps, weapons, supplies, and mechanics of the original PUBG Mobile. Users will be able to log in with an existing account, and purchased items and friend lists will be transferred to the lightweight version.
PUBG Mobile Light will be released as a separate application that will not replace the main game. Both versions will develop in parallel and receive updates simultaneously. Pre-registration will begin on August 25, and the full release will take place by the end of 2026. The exact date has not yet been announced.
