The End Is Near? "Detective Conan" Author Has Already Drawn Storyboards for the Final Chapter

News 0

The story of "Detective Conan" has been going on for more than three decades, but the manga's ending already exists not only in Gosho Aoyama's plans. The author has prepared the name for the final chapter — a rough storyboard with page composition, frames, and character lines. The artist revealed this during a special program on Japanese television:

"The name of the final chapter has already been drawn. Do you want to see it? […] It will be interesting."

Aoyama did not reveal plot details or say when readers would see the last chapter. Therefore, the finished name does not mean that the manga will end soon, but it shows that the author already has a clear idea of the story's ending. For fans who have been following "Detective Conan" for decades, this means that one day they will finally see the conclusion of Conan's adventures.

During the interview, Aoyama also admitted that he initially did not expect the series to have such a long life. According to the author, he thought that "Detective Conan" would quickly lose popularity, and first realized the scale of its success after the release of the first feature film.

Aoyama also discussed this with Eiichiro Oda, the author of "One Piece," which has been running since 1997:

"When I talked to Eiichiro Oda, we discussed that we are probably the only ones whose manga turns into an anime every week."

"Detective Conan" has been published in Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine since January 1994. The anime adaptation has been running since 1996, celebrated its 30th anniversary this year, and has already surpassed 1200 episodes. In parallel, a series of full-length anime films is developing, including 29 movies.
