11 bit studios announced a collaboration with developer Harvester Games. The company will release Trainwatch — an atmospheric adventure with elements of detective work and time management.
The main character of Trainwatch is Troy, who decided to temporarily distance himself from his usual life. He takes a job as a railway crossing guard located in the middle of a foggy wilderness. For the next month, his duties seem extremely simple: check the schedule, lower the barrier for passing trains, stay sober, and call his wife Agatha every evening.
However, the monotonous work quickly turns into something much more disturbing. Strange calls, mysterious neighbors, locked places, and mysterious trails beyond the crossing gradually draw Troy into a story that becomes increasingly difficult to detach from.
The player will have to monitor not only the train schedule but also the hero's own condition. Troy must eat, rest, maintain cleanliness, and cope with fear and fatigue. Missed calls to Agatha will also have consequences, and the promise to stay sober will have to be kept every day.
One of the key features of Trainwatch will be a choice system with limited time. The player will not be able to do everything: help every person encountered, uncover every secret, and fulfill all promises simultaneously. They will have to decide what to focus on and what to leave unanswered.
