Supercell is preparing another major overhaul of the mobile action game mo.co. According to the company's internal statistics, the recent relaunch did not solve the game's main problem: most users quickly lose interest in it.
At the same time, the remaining audience spends a lot of time in mo.co, but it is not enough for sustainable project growth. Supercell believes that small updates will no longer fix the situation, so developers are experimenting with more serious changes:
"This cannot be fixed with minor changes. We are already prototyping and testing major new elements."
For this reason, Supercell will also reallocate resources within the team. Developers who worked on seasonal events, monsters, and weapons will switch to creating new systems. Because of this, the fourth and fifth seasons will largely repeat the content of the first.
Supercell has not yet decided what mo.co will ultimately become. New systems could be integrated into the current version of the game, but developers also allow for another full relaunch. There are no plans to close the project now, although the company does not completely rule out such a scenario either:
"Could the game face closure? For now, this is an unlikely scenario. We have many ideas, and we believe in mo.co's potential. But a game that is still finding its place in the market is always at risk of closure."
mo.co was released in March 2025. Since then, Supercell has changed its approach to game development and reworked its core mechanics several times.
