Sakamoto and Shin Prepare for New Battles on the Poster for the Second Season of "Sakamoto Days"
The continuation of one of Netflix's most popular anime series is set to premiere in early 2027.
The creators of "Sakamoto Days" have unveiled an alternative version of the teaser poster for the second season. The image once again features former hitman Taro Sakamoto and telepath Shin Asakura, who will embark on a new investigation in the continuation.
Sakamoto and Shin will infiltrate the JCC, where professional assassins are trained, to gather information about the mysterious criminal X, also known as Slur. Simultaneously, members of ORDER will go on a mission to Kyoto, where they will encounter an unexpected adversary.
The second season will also delve into the past of young Sakamoto, Nagumo, and Rion and further explore their connection to Slur. New characters will include JCC students and teachers, such as Amane and Satoda, as well as one of ORDER's founders, Yotsumura.
TMS Entertainment continues to produce the second season, but there have been some changes in the team. Daisuke Nakajima has taken over as director, replacing Masaki Watanabe, who remains as chief director. Yo Moriyama is once again responsible for character design, and Taku Kishimoto is composing the series' music.
The first season of "Sakamoto Days" premiered in early 2025 and garnered 24 million views in its first six months, surpassing other new Netflix anime series during the same period. The second season will begin airing in January 2027 and, like the first, will be exclusively available on Netflix.
