Shawn Levy told People in an interview how he and Ryan Gosling took on the new "Ghost Rider." After finishing filming "Star Wars: Starfighter," the actor shared his vision for the adaptation with the director. Levy liked the idea, and soon they were presenting it together to Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige:
"Literally six minutes after he started telling me everything, I said, 'Yeah, go for it. We're doing this.' Then we went to Kevin Feige with this idea, and here we are."
Levy attributes this quick decision, in part, to the mutual understanding that developed between him and Gosling while working on "Starfighter." The actor served as an executive producer for the film and was actively involved in the creative process:
"Gosling is a wonderful muse and an inspiring actor, but at the same time, he's a great partner. He thinks like a complete author: he pays attention to the lighting, the fabric on the wall, and notices everything."
"Ghost Rider" is set to premiere on July 28, 2028. Before that, Gosling and Levy will release "Star Wars: Starfighter," which will hit theaters on May 28, 2027.
