New details have emerged regarding the origin of the recently circulated Grand Theft Auto VI footage. According to blogger TheRavenHelm, who claims to have been contacted by several developers, including employees of major companies, all previously shown materials were recorded from the PC version of the game with a controller connected.
This information may explain a peculiarity that attentive viewers noticed in the published footage. The on-screen button prompts initially appear empty, and the designation only appears after the player presses the corresponding button on the controller. It is assumed that in the original interface version, keyboard key designations should be in their place.
There is also a more important point. If the recording were made directly from the console version, at such an early stage of development, developers would likely need a corresponding devkit. Using a PC build with a controller in this regard seems much more plausible.
