Riot Games announced the end of active development for the fighting game 2XKO in December 2026. According to the company, the game failed to attract enough players, and current metrics do not allow for a sustainable model for the project's future development.
However, 2XKO will not be shut down. Servers will remain available on all platforms even after development ceases, and the offline mode will continue to function without changes. By the end of the year, Riot Games also plans to release additional content and improvements, including two new playable champions. In December, developers will release the final patch with bug fixes, after which active development will stop.
The company also decided to make the game more accessible for remaining players. All champions will be unlocked, and most cosmetic items will be bundled into sets. Additionally, Riot Games is refunding all purchases made in 2XKO up to and including August 20, 2026.
