Sony meddles in other people's business: company prevents store from selling Marvel's Wolverine at a discount - rumor

Sony found itself at the center of a new scandal surrounding game pricing. The Brazilian store The Gamer Hut, operating through the Shopee platform, stated that it received an external demand to stop selling the upcoming action game Marvel's Wolverine or disable the ability for customers to use discount vouchers.

According to the store, the initiator of the request was not named. However, The Gamer Hut specifically emphasized that the demand did not come from Shopee itself.

To continue the pre-order, we would have to agree to remove this option for our customers, and we do not agree with this condition.

As a result, The Gamer Hut decided to completely abandon pre-orders for Marvel's Wolverine on Shopee, preferring not to restrict customers from using legitimate discount coupons available on the platform. Judging by the store's statement, these vouchers can be obtained independently of the seller and used for purchases from various stores on Shopee.

Although The Gamer Hut did not directly name Sony, it is most likely the Japanese company behind such a demand, as Marvel's Wolverine is one of PlayStation's key exclusives.
