People are turned into plants for oxygen - the second teaser for the anime "Fool's Night" has been released
The adaptation of Kasumi Yasuda's manga will be the first joint project between SHAFT and Sunrise.
Netflix unveiled a new trailer for the anime "Fool's Night" and announced the premiere date — the adaptation of Kasumi Yasuda's manga of the same name will be released on the service on November 26.
The action takes place in the distant future, where dense clouds have hidden Earth from sunlight for a hundred years. Most plants have died, and humanity faces an oxygen shortage. To solve the problem, scientists have created transfloration — a technology that allows them to implant seeds into the bodies of dying people and turn them into plants.
The main character, Toshiro Kamiya, lives in poverty and tries to find money for his mentally ill mother's treatment. Losing hope for a normal life, he decides to undergo transfloration, but after the procedure, he gains an unusual gift — the ability to hear the voices of people who have become plants. Thanks to this, Toshiro gets a job at a medical facility where he helps families communicate with their transformed loved ones.
SHAFT and Sunrise are jointly responsible for the production. Atsushi Yukawa is the director, for whom "Fool's Night" will be his directorial debut. Jin Tanaka ("Oshi no Ko") is responsible for the series' composition, Robert Sato is designing the characters, and Tatsuya Kato is composing the music.
