Nikita Buyanov spoke about a new game based on EFT, the rework of "Lighthouse", PvE prestige, and the "joke" with the secret ending of Escape from Tarkov
They also plan to do something with character skill progression in Escape from Tarkov.
The Escape from Tarkov team promotes the extraction shooter on various platforms. This year, the developers attended ChinaJoy 2026 and published a selection of highlights from the event online. In addition, they presented a series of answers to questions.
Battlestate Games boss Nikita Buyanov shared some plans for Escape from Tarkov. For example, he spoke about the rework of one of the maps:
The reworked "Lighthouse" is planned after the start of our first season, within a month, as far as I remember. Almost everything is ready already.
The developers are going to rework the character skill progression mechanics:
There are plans. We receive many messages that it needs to be reworked, it needs to be accelerated, among other things. We plan to do this gradually throughout the year; there will be changes in this regard.
Currently, the EFT authors are "actively working on" the issue of seasons for PvE characters; "a lot is planned" for the PvE mode:
For example, prestiges will be available for PvE soon. Relatively soon, of course. Well, we'll see how things develop, most likely [there will be seasons for PvE characters].
Nikita Buyanov also confirmed plans for a new ending for Escape from Tarkov:
There will be at least one secret ending; we won't say anything about it. And we won't even say when it will appear. That's another joke I came up with.
Work on Escape from Tarkov: Guncyclopedia continues, and the release is "planned for this year":
We are currently looking for resources for this because initially, it was planned as a fairly simple system that would simply allow weapon customization, and that's it. But we decided to add more functionality, added the ability to shoot it at the shooting range, and in general, some additional interesting, useful tools for screenshots and all sorts of other things. Accordingly, if it works out, then this year; if not, then early next year.
Currently, Escape from Tarkov is hosting its first season, Kord Breach, which added a new mode, a battle pass, and seasonal modifiers that affect gameplay.
