Some fans of The Witcher 3 really love Gwent. It seems that the upcoming expansion will particularly please them.

Currently, CD Projekt RED, in collaboration with Fool's Theory studio, is working on an expansion for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which has been named Songs of the Past.

At Gamescom, the developers will hold a full presentation, but for now, fans are trying to find out some details. Recently, they noticed a journalist's post on a social network who wrote: "Want to know what's the coolest thing about The Witcher 3 getting an expansion? THERE WILL BE EVEN MORE GWENT (I hope)."

CD Projekt RED community manager Marcin Lukaszewski responded to the post with a short: "100% confirmed."

Songs of the Past for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt does not yet have a specific release date, but the release window is known — the expansion is expected to be released in 2027 on PC and modern consoles.

In addition, CD Projekt RED is currently working on a full new installment of The Witcher 4 franchise about Ciri's adventures, as well as a sequel to Cyberpunk 2. The developers have not yet announced when they plan to release these two games.
