SNK Drowning in Losses Despite Strengthening Team with Tekken Veterans

News 0

The company previously strengthened its fighting game team. Kohei Ikeda, former director of the Tekken series, who left Bandai Namco after 20 years, joined the newly formed VS Studio. Ikeda confirmed that he has already started work and is once again collaborating with former Tekken colleagues.

However, SNK's financial situation is raising more and more questions. Despite revenue growth, the company's net loss reached almost $140 million.

SNK also decided to close its subsidiary SNK Entertainment, which was responsible for brand licensing and collaboration with external partners. Its responsibilities will be transferred to other divisions.

SNK is owned by the Saudi Electronic Gaming Development Company, which funds the studio's activities. The company continues to invest in fighting games and hire renowned developers.

It is currently unknown what project VS Studio is working on.
