The Duskbloods Closed Beta Attracted More Attention Than Elden Ring Nightreign

The Duskbloods received more applications for its closed online beta than Elden Ring Nightreign, even though the game will only be available on Nintendo Switch 2.

Despite server issues on the first day, the closed beta for The Duskbloods was relatively successful and received positive feedback. What impressed the developers even more was the number of applications – it was comparable to Elden Ring Nightreign.

Producer Yasuhiro Kitao stated in a recent Famitsu broadcast:

Meanwhile, the Nightreign test was conducted simultaneously on Xbox Series X/S and PS5, while The Duskbloods was only available on Nintendo Switch 2. According to Kitao, Nightreign may still attract more players at launch. The release date for The Duskbloods has not yet been announced, although rumors suggest a late 2026 release.

The success of Nightreign, which sold over 5 million copies in less than two months, may also have boosted interest in FromSoftware's multiplayer projects.
