Last week, an unknown group called Cyberleek began publishing material online that appears to contain authentic GTA VI gameplay footage. The leaks surfaced just days before the game's official Netflix reveal, scheduled for later this week.
After the initial publication, the videos began to spread rapidly across social media. Their re-uploads have already garnered millions of views, and new videos, presumably from the same source, continue to appear online.
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, is trying to stop the spread of the leaked material. The publisher is sending DMCA notices to platforms demanding the removal of the videos, but has not yet been able to completely suppress the content's distribution.
Earlier, it became known that Take-Two had sent subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord, attempting to obtain information that could help identify the person or group behind the leaks. However, according to Discord's Chief Marketing Officer Ryan Rigney, the company has not yet officially received the document.
Discord has not yet received a subpoena from Take-Two. When we do, we will evaluate its validity and the scope of the requested information before responding.
According to the content of the initial subpoena, Take-Two wants information about all user accounts that were members of the specified Discord servers and communicated there between June 1, 2026, and the present. The publisher also requested device and telemetry data associated with these accounts if certain tools or files were present on them.
Specifically, Take-Two is requesting account IDs, email addresses, IP addresses used for registration and last login, phone numbers, linked accounts such as Google and Xbox, and device IDs.
In addition, the request includes GTA, Rockstar, and Cyberleek related materials that may have been stored in users' OneDrive.
