Zack Cregger's new "Resident Evil" will feature first-person footage - a new teaser has been released

A teaser with the caption "With love for games" has appeared on the official social media accounts of the new "Resident Evil". Footage from the upcoming horror film is interspersed with comments from director Zack Cregger about how he brought Resident Evil to the big screen.

First-person scenes stand out particularly. In one of them, Brian, played by Austin Abrams, explores a house with a double-barreled shotgun, and in another, he tries to shoot an infected woman who lunges at him. Judging by the teaser, the film will switch between third-person and the hero's own perspective, paying homage to modern games in the series where the camera angle can be changed in the settings.

Cregger has repeatedly stated that he wants to recreate the feeling of playing Resident Evil. Brian will cautiously explore dangerous locations, conserve ammunition, and gradually acquire more powerful weapons as situations become increasingly perilous.

The premiere of "Resident Evil" in international cinemas will take place on September 18, 2026.
