The expansion for Dragon's Dogma 2 will be released in October.

Dark Arisen will be released on October 9 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. On the same day, Dragon's Dogma 2 will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 — the port will immediately include the new expansion.

Developers promise a significant amount of new content. Producer Naoto Oyama previously stated that the main storyline in the new Norgann region will take approximately 15–20 hours. In addition, 12 unique dungeons will be added to the base game, each taking about 30–60 minutes to complete. In total, Dark Arisen will offer over 25 hours of new content.

One of the main innovations of Dark Arisen will be the equipment search system. Players will be able to find unknown weapons and armor, but they won't be able to use them immediately. First, the find will have to be taken to a special NPC who will determine its properties. The system is similar to engrams from Destiny: the result of revealing an item is unknown in advance, so a lucky find can both pleasantly surprise and disappoint.
