Microsoft has officially announced the pre-order start date for the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition – a special version of the console dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Xbox brand. Orders can be placed starting August 27 at 5:00 PM Moscow time. Some loyal Xbox fans will have the opportunity to pre-order earlier than others via special invitations.
Sales of the console itself will begin on November 13, and its price will be $899.99. The package will also include a download code for Halo: Campaign Evolved – a remake of Bungie's iconic shooter, which essentially marked the beginning of Xbox's history as a gaming platform in 2001.
The design of the Xbox Series X25 is styled after the original console. The body features an image of Master Chief's helmet, and each unit will receive a unique engraved number, emphasizing its limited edition status. Microsoft also promises to hide several Easter eggs in the design for attentive players.
Separately, the company will release an anniversary controller. Its sales will begin on October 20. The gamepad is designed with the original Xbox in mind – this is noticeable both in the overall design and the signature logo. The white and black bumpers resemble the color scheme of the buttons on the first console's controller.
