Atari and Activision have prepared a pleasant gift for retro gamers and beyond. They plan to re-release 39 games for the original Atari 2600 console. This is not about digital copies, but physical cartridges: the first batch is expected to be released this year.
A total of four "collections" are planned, the first of which will be the Treasure Collection. It will include the following ten games: Pitfall!, River Raid, Freeway, MegaMania, Chopper Command, Sky Jinks, Dragster, Dolphin, Barnstorming, and Grand Prix.
In addition to physical cartridges, each game box will contain a "collectible woven patch and enamel pin." The same items will be included in each subsequent collection. Regarding compatibility, Atari states that each of these games is "compatible with Atari 2600+, 7800+ consoles, as well as the original Atari 2600 and 7800."
The Treasure Collection is already available for pre-order for 217.95 euros (21,711 rubles). In addition, each game can be purchased separately for 30.95 euros (3,083 rubles). A deluxe set containing all four collections is also available for 870.95 euros (86,761 rubles). There is also a Superfan bundle for 1175.95 euros (117,145 rubles).
It includes all four Deluxe collections, 10 standard games, 12 metal collectible cards, as well as a woven patch and enamel pin for each game from the Deluxe editions.
