Claw to the Knee: Insomniac Reveals Details of Marvel's Wolverine Combat System

News 1

Insomniac Games presented a new trailer for Marvel's Wolverine, dedicated to the game's key features. The video was voiced by Liam McIntyre, who plays James "Logan" Howlett.

The gameplay will be based on a fast-paced and aggressive combat system. The developers are focusing on constant pressure on opponents: Wolverine will be able to use claws, kicks, attack combos, and critical moves. As players progress, they will unlock new techniques that enhance individual combat moves.

In addition, Logan will be able to use four special techniques that charge during battles. These include Tornado for clearing an area, Bonebreaker for a powerful leg strike against an opponent, and Spiral Strike. Four special moves can be equipped simultaneously for smoother attack combinations.

Another important system will be Adaptations – upgrades that allow players to tailor Logan's abilities to their own playstyle. They can increase bullet resistance, enhance Rage effectiveness, extend the parry window, or make Wolverine an even more formidable opponent. In total, the developers have prepared dozens of different upgrades.

The Rage system is represented by a three-level adrenaline bar focused on survival, resilience, and fury. The player can use it to survive a critical situation or enter a berserker state and mercilessly deal with enemies, maintaining the Rage level.

Marvel's Wolverine will be released on September 15, 2026.
