The nearly 27-minute extended gameplay showcase of Grand Theft Auto VI, prepared as part of a special Netflix feature, turned out to be filled with numerous details and Easter eggs. Fans discovered one of them only after carefully examining the background scenes.
At 7:34 in the video, while Jason waits for Lucia to get ready, a commercial for a fictional 30,000-calorie Prairie Sandwich Box Meal is shown on TV. In the commercial, animals peacefully graze in a green field by the river, but the idyll is suddenly interrupted by gunshots.
As observant fans noticed, the area depicted in the commercial is almost identical to one of the locations in Red Dead Redemption 2. X user s1nicki was able to identify the spot by the characteristic bend in the river, the arrangement of rocks, and trees. Specifically, two large rocks and a tree leaning over the water match.
According to the enthusiast, the location in question is in Red Dead Redemption 2 north of Annesburg, near a bend in the river. When asked how he managed to find the location so quickly, s1nicki replied: "I'm chronically obsessed with RDR2."
After the discovery was published, other fans also began to compare frames from the two games and share their own screenshots confirming the similarity of the terrain.
This is far from the only connection between Grand Theft Auto VI and the world of Red Dead Redemption. Fans are already collecting various small crossovers between the franchises. For example, characters from RDR allegedly appear on in-game currency in Grand Theft Auto VI, and the weapon manufacturer Duke, familiar to Red Dead fans, returns in the new Grand Theft Auto installment.
