DLSS 5 has already been launched in a game - RTX 5080 loses more than half of its FPS

DLSS 5 has already been successfully launched in Control thanks to a fan mod - on an RTX 5080, the technology reduces the frame rate by more than half.

NVIDIA, despite strong criticism of DLSS 5, is not yet going to abandon its plans to release the technology. The first unofficial demonstrations have appeared online.

The MxBenchmarkPC channel launched a limited version of DLSS 5 in Control – the effect is applied only to characters. As previously reported, the technology requires enormous computational resources: even on an RTX 5080, after enabling it, the frame rate drops by more than half.

However, the leaked files are not the final version of DLSS 5. They accidentally ended up in NBA 2K27, so the technology's characteristics may still change before release.

Meanwhile, the already available DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction looks more interesting: the technology significantly improves image sharpness and stability when using ray tracing.

Videos have also appeared online with allegedly launched DLSS 5 in The Last of Us Part II, Skyrim, and Hogwarts Legacy. However, the authenticity of some recordings raises doubts.
