Prime Video could become the new international platform for "Doctor Who." Oliver Jones, head of British series at the service, hinted at this possibility during the Edinburgh Television Festival.

"I love 'Doctor Who,' and we are open to discussing any proposals related to well-known franchises."

Until 2025, Disney+ was the international partner for "Doctor Who." The streaming service helped fund the series and broadcast it outside the UK. After two seasons, Disney+ decided not to continue the collaboration due to high production costs and disappointing ratings for the second season.

However, replacing Disney+ is not BBC's only challenge. The production company Bad Wolf and showrunner Russell T Davies also declined to continue working on "Doctor Who." Therefore, the corporation is looking for a new studio to take on the next seasons and has invited potential partners to submit their own development plan for the series.
