Afraid to start Elden Ring? Nintendo has prepared a special guide

Nintendo has released an official guide for beginners playing Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Switch 2, introducing newcomers to the basics of traversing the Lands Between.

The release of Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 took place on August 28, 2026. For this event, Nintendo and Bandai Namco prepared a short video with basic tips for those new to a FromSoftware game. The guide explains the core principles of Elden Ring and tells what to expect during the journey through the Lands Between. The player's main goal is to explore the world, collect the shards of the shattered Elden Ring, and ultimately become the Elden Lord.

Tarnished Edition includes the main game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The edition also received new content: starting classes Idus Knight and Heavy Knight, new weapons and equipment, and the ability to change Torrent's appearance. Some of the content is available to owners of the game on other platforms via the paid Tarnished Pack.

Initial reviews indicate that the Switch 2 version turned out technically much better than early demonstrations showed.
