Call of Duty Creators Sent a Group of Police Officers to a Cheat Creator's Home and Published a Video of the Raid
The entrepreneur clearly didn't expect such guests.
Games in the Call of Duty franchise are very popular. Not all fans of online modes play fair, so there is an extensive market for cheats for the shooter. The situation at one point became so exacerbated that some entrepreneurs began selling cheats even before the full release of new installments.
Activision is currently preparing for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and is dealing not only with cheaters but also with their creators and sellers. Recently, a video of a raid published by the developers went viral on social media.
A group of police officers arrived at the home of one of the cheat creators-distributors to serve him a cease and desist order:
RICOCHET anti-cheat's work doesn't end after the match. Cheat developers operate worldwide. And so do we. We are fighting directly against cheat sellers. Last weekend, during the closed beta test, we went to Ohio to neutralize Elocarry. And this is far from an isolated incident...
The developers noted that they have sent almost a hundred similar documents and have also stopped the activities of more than 375 companies involved in reselling cheats.
The full release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on PC and consoles is expected on October 23, 2026, but those who pre-order the digital edition will be able to get early access to the campaign as early as October 16.
