Rockstar Completely Redesigned Cars in GTA VI - New Details Emerge Online

Information about GTA VI continues to pour in. More and more journalists and internet bloggers who have had the opportunity to get acquainted with the game are sharing details of their meetings with Rockstar Games. The latest information concerns cars.

Rockstar has completely revamped the car system in GTA VI — cars will have different characteristics, fuel, complex anti-theft protection, trunk space, and new damage consequences.

Rockstar confirmed that players will be able to buy garages, but freely acquiring new hideouts and homes will not be possible. Garages will allow storing stolen cars until they are registered.

The driving model has been almost entirely rebuilt from scratch. Rockstar combines the weight and physics of GTA IV with the accessibility of GTA V. Drivetrain, tires, suspension, and steering will affect car behavior. Fuel and electric vehicle charging will be introduced, with refueling taking about 10 seconds.

Stealing expensive cars will become more difficult. Some will require key cloning, and the necessary tools will need to be unlocked through missions for resellers. The Waink app will show the car's protection, value, and required equipment.

Cars will have different trunk volumes: from small for a motorcycle to spacious for a van. Pay 'n' Spray will return, nitro will appear, and workshops will have different specializations.

Damage will become more realistic: punctured tires can lead to loss of control and rollovers. After serious accidents, a Burnout-style camera will activate.

If the police link a personal car to a crime, it may be impounded. The car can be retrieved for money or by hacking the police impound lot.
