Paramount Pictures and Legendary Entertainment have released a new trailer for the film "Street Fighter," based on Capcom's Street Fighter fighting game series. As expected, the trailer focuses on the friendship and rivalry between Ryu and Ken Masters. After years of estrangement, Ryu must regain his form and join the World Warrior tournament to save Ken and uncover a conspiracy brewing behind the scenes of the competition.
The trailer also showcases an extensive cast and many signature moves from the games. Ryu battles Blanka, Chun-Li confronts Vega and Cammy, and E. Honda unleashes his "hundred hand slap" on Ryu. Meanwhile, Ken faces Dhalsim and Balrog, played by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.
Judging by the comments, viewers were delighted by what they saw. Users particularly praised the creators for not trying to make the film serious or realistic, and for unashamedly bringing the madness of the original games to the screen. Some admitted that this is the Street Fighter adaptation they had been waiting for for years.
The cast includes Andrew Koji as Ryu, Noah Centineo as Ken Masters, Kallina Liang as Chun-Li, Roman Reigns as Akuma, David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Eric Andre as Don Sauvage, and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson as Balrog.
They are joined by Jason Momoa as Blanka, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hiroki Goto as E. Honda, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, Reina Vallandingham as Juli, and Alexander Volkanovski as Joe.
"Street Fighter" is set to premiere on October 16, 2026.
