Zack Snyder confirmed that the "300" prequel series is still in development. The director did not reveal specific details but compared the potential scale of the project to "Game of Thrones."
On The Preston & Steve Show radio show, the filmmaker called the current state of the series "amazing" and hinted that the creators intend to significantly expand the familiar world:
"I can't talk about it, but it's really cool. If you take a step back and think about expanding this universe, a 'Game of Thrones'-style version of '300' sounds pretty appealing."
Snyder's words indirectly confirm August's information from film critic and The Hot Mic host John Rocha. According to him, Warner Bros. Television has agreed to collaborate with Netflix, a writers' room has already been assembled for the series, and Snyder is set to direct the pilot episode.
The streaming service has not yet ordered a full season. It is assumed that Netflix will make a final decision after the pilot is completed.
