Persona 4 Revival Developers Will Update Dialogues in Remake for Modern Audience Who Simply Didn't Understand Them

News 6

The creators of Persona 4 Revival have decided to slightly rework the dialogues of the original game to make them feel more modern and better convey plot information. However, Atlus emphasizes: the personalities of the characters and their traits will not be changed.

Project producer Kazuhisa Wada explained that during the work on the remake, the team found moments in the original script that might not be clear enough for players today. According to him, the developers found information that the original authors expected the audience to understand between the lines, but some players simply couldn't grasp it.

There is information that we assumed people would be able to understand on their own, but they didn't.

Therefore, some lines have been rewritten or adjusted. The main goal of the changes is to make conversations more understandable, natural, and effective from a narrative perspective.

Atlus does not intend to turn Persona 4 Revival into a reinterpretation of the characters. Wada specifically emphasized that the conversations themselves and their content remain the same, and the characters retain their original personalities.

The conversations themselves are the same. The characters are still the same people. We haven't changed any part of their personalities. We've adjusted the dialogues to make them more modern and tell the story better.
