CD Projekt RED once again explained to investors why it is not going to make games using AI

The last time the same question about AI use was raised in May.

The question of using generative artificial intelligence was raised again during the conference on the results of the first half of 2026. Co-CEO Michał Nowakowski reiterated that the studio is experimenting with the technology, but the main work is still done by people.

At the same time, CD Projekt RED is experimenting with various AI tools and considers them as an auxiliary technology that may prove more useful in the future. However, the studio is not going to entrust artificial intelligence with the creation of full-fledged games.

Nowakowski is particularly skeptical about the use of AI in large and complex projects like The Witcher 4. In his opinion, entrusting such a process to language models is not only impractical but also potentially unethical. The executive emphasized that each company must decide for itself how actively to use AI in development.
