Total War: Warhammer 40,000 will not be a trilogy - developers are preparing to release a lot of content

News

Currently, Creative Assembly studio is developing the galactic strategy Total War: Warhammer 40,000. Previously, they had already presented several fantasy strategies based on the Total War: Warhammer franchise, so some players assumed that a full trilogy should be expected in this case as well.

However, the creators of Total War: Warhammer 40,000 have a different plan. During Gamescom, a team representative explained that they intend to limit themselves to one game, but will actively release new content for it.

Dave Petry explained that the developers were inspired by the Immortal Empires mode (Immortal Empire in Russian localization) – this campaign combined all factions and other content within a single strategic sandbox:

The truly valuable gaming experience is a sandbox. This is what we want to continue creating and developing, bringing everything together in one place so that players have many different ways to enter the game and still have access to all content, rather than being “cut off” and forced to settle for only a part of it.

According to the developers, such a game structure will accelerate the game's development, as they will focus on developing one game and will not have to think about creating a full-fledged new game. The release version will offer four factions: Space Marines, Astra Militarum, Eldar, Orks.

You can add Total War: Warhammer 40,000 to your Steam wishlist via the following link. The developers have not yet announced a specific release date for the game, and there is no release window yet.
