Netflix Considers Adaptations of "Geiger," "Radio Spaceman," and Several Other Comics

The company is looking for new comics that could serve as the basis for popular series.

Following the success of "The Umbrella Academy" and "Sweet Tooth," Netflix continues to eye independent comics. The company has acquired options for several works, including "Geiger" by Geoff Johns and Gary Frank.

The story of "Geiger" is set in 2050 after a nuclear war. An irradiated family man transforms into a glowing protector and confronts mutants and warlords. Previously, Paramount was developing a television adaptation, but the project never reached production.

The list also includes "Under Trees Where Nobody Sees" by Patrick Horvath, "Radio Spaceman" by Mike Mignola, and "Infinite Horizon" by Gerry Duggan and Phil Noto. The latter transplants motifs from "The Odyssey" into the near future, telling the story of an American soldier trying to return home from the Middle East.

For now, these are only options, which allow Netflix to develop adaptations but do not guarantee that they will reach production. The rights could "sit on the shelf" for many years before even one of the projects is put into motion.
