GaGa Games publishing house employees announced that they are going to release expansions for the board games "War of the Ring" and "War of the Ring: The Card Game" in Russia.
"War of the Ring: The Card Game" will receive the Hope and Despair expansion, which will add a new card type to the project – story cards. Inspired by key events and turning points in "The Lord of the Rings", story cards represent natural and supernatural influences on events in Middle-earth, providing an excellent way to modify game decks.
This expansion includes 54 story cards, 40 story tokens, and rules for adding story cards to the game in both multiplayer and solo scenarios.
Hope and Despair will be available for pre-order immediately after SHUG (pre-orders for this board game will open in the fall). The team is also currently discussing the possibility of bringing a set of exclusive playmats and missing metal boxes with protectors along with the new expansion.
And "War of the Ring" fans will receive the Sieges of Middle-earth expansion. It will be available for pre-order closer to the end of the year along with the entire series. You will be able to both replenish your collection with the new expansion and acquire the base game.
Sieges of Middle-earth is dedicated to siege battles for the main fortresses of the Free Peoples. New mechanics bring these battles to the forefront of the conflict: the Shadow player can deploy powerful siege engines to destroy fortifications and sow despair among the defenders, while the Free Peoples player can perform heroic feats, make daring sorties, and inspire warriors for a final battle that can turn the tide of the conflict.
New components include plastic miniatures, special dice, tokens, and cards that are added to the base game, expanding the strategic possibilities of the participants and increasing the narrative potential.
