Journalists praise Silent Hill: Townfall demo and want more
Silent Hill: Townfall impressed journalists with its unusual approach to the series, atmosphere, and abandonment of the traditional third-person camera.
At Gamescom, media representatives tried an early version of the game and were extremely pleased. Some journalists, who were skeptical about the series' return, after an hour with Townfall, called the game capable of convincing even the biggest doubters.
The action takes place in Scotland, in the town of St. Amilia in 1996. The main character, Simon Ordell, wakes up on the shore, with no memory of his connection to this place.

The main difference was the first-person camera. It is connected with investigations: the hero uses a pocket television to evoke visions of the past and detect threats in the fog. The developers are betting not on jump scares, but on a slow build-up of tension, sound, and paranoia.
At the same time, the game features surreal monsters, from a humanoid with an axe embedded in its head to a giant figure towering over the clouds.
